Red Shoes

In my last post I mentioned the challenge was going strong and I might add some bonus challenges like Red Shoes and one mom already said, if I any mom comes with Red Shoes she should win automatically. So I am challenging all the moms, not to Red Shoes but Red Sneakers (the sneakers have to have Red, and you can be creative....). the catch is they must be worn Thursday, February 12 in honor of Lincoln's birthday. Let's see what the moms come up with.

This challenge is worth 5 points!!

Back to bed I go, maybe for an hour or two. Then the craziness will begin, errands while Joey and dad are at Music, StrollerFit and our monthly pot luck. Atleast my dish is done

Heart Healthy Challenge

I can not believe how much some of the moms are getting into this. One of my moms, says she owns nothing red except for socks with Red, so she makes sure to point out the red in her socks so she gets her correct points. I am amazed. During the last challenge I had a few moms compete, but this is even more fun. I am thinking I need to add a few other challenges, like one day a Red Hat or red shoes, I am going to think about that, maybe these will be bonus points on a specific day.

I have also firmed up my next session for Restore the Core, starting the end of March and I am adding an afternoon class. Hope it fills. details to follow.

Sick child, No sleep and More Snow...

Joey has been fussy for days, and last night had a low grade fever again. He woke up so many times, that for a good portion of the night he slept between Scott and I. And when I say between, I do not mean laying next to us, no we were like an H, Scott and I on each end and he across, his feet in my back and his head in Scott's back. I was so afraid we would squish him, but if i moved him he cried and woke up. Oh what fun!

Scott stayed home and we took him to the Dr. No ear infection, no sore throat, no stomach thing or congestion, but it was what I thought all along, the two-year Molars are cutting in. Poor guy. I left Joey home with Daddy and went off to StrollerFit.

By the time class was to start it was snowing, so the consensus was to do Restore the Core instead, less to lug, but that left us with the older ones running and creating Havoc. To add to the craziness, I was video taping my new RTC instructor for her certification. We were suppose to do that tonight, but with the snow decided to do it during class. I think she did well, now to see if I can get it to burn on a dvd with sound....This also made me remember why we do Restore the Core with out the children. It is the one or two hours a week with out mommy, mommy, mommy!!!!!!

Off to play with the DVD player and the computer. When Joey wakes up maybe we will "buildahot"

My Child the Baker

Baking......

For anyone that knows me, you know I love to Cook, no measuring required!!! As for baking, not my favorite activity, usually too many steps and too much measuring. As my pregnancy comes to an end, my sweet tooth is gaining momentum and with the diabetes, I am truly trying to keep the sugar intake down.

The best way to do that is to make it from scratch. And then eat a bit and send the rest to work with Scott. This morning I sort of had a little helper.

He is definitely related to Grandma Sharon, she loves to bake and he is my child because I loved to mix and then clean the bowl and utensils.

Now we need to go run errands and then off to StrollerFit, to burn the calories before we eat the cookies.

Cancer....

Life is so fragile and Cancer has been destroying the lives I love for more than half of my life. I look at my mother who has been battling this disease for far to long and I am amazed everyday by her strength, I am not sure I could do it. I know that Joey and this new baby help her to fight everyday, but in my heart I know that without her own inner strength nothing could make her go thru what she does everyday. She says it is not the cancer that will kill her, but the side effects to the Chemo and I believe her. In the last few years she has had congestive heart failure, neuropathy in her hands and feet, back pain and colitis. The new drug made her miss my brothers wedding but she is fighting to be well enough to be her for the birth of the baby. She was there for Joey's birth and nothing is going to keep her away, not even being pumped with Chemo and lots of Anti-Nausea drugs.

In her honor and the honor of those who have passed away Linda (who Joey's middle name is for), Len, Barbara, Debbie, Bertha, and many many more, and for those who have beaten this awful disease and are still with us like Carol W, I have started a team to participate in this years Relay for Life in Milford, MA on May 16 and 17th at Milford High school, called Hip Mamas and I hope the ladies from StrollerFit (and there families) and the WW members will join me once again to help raise money to end this awful disease. Joey, Scott, my parents and a few friends participated last year and we had a great time and I hope we can get an even bigger turn out this year. I know it will be a late night for the kids, but we can bring the pj's and have a good time.

If you want to register to join us go to:

http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=16296&pg=teamlist and find Hip mamas and click on join the team.

Hope to see you all there.
