Restore the Core with Marybeth Knight

What a crazy week. It rained for most of my 5 day WSI class. Thursday was nice and my students were in the pool all day, while Julianna sang from her stroller to my friend Blake, who was suppose to be working, opps!

Then friday was nice, so I gave the test and they all passed and I headed to stop at the Bosotn Red Cross and then I was off to Reebok, to see Marybeth Knight and help at an event where she was demoing the muscle bar.

I got stuck in rain again (after a sunny mornign) and cape treaffic at 1 pm. A 20 minute drive took an hour and 15 minutes but it was worth it. the Rebook corporate office was amazing. And Andy and I had fun playing with the bar and Julianna had fun flirting with Andy and playing with the other people around. this was all worth it. I learned some new moves to use the bar for including push ups, which killed and my moms will love the burn....

After the show, Marybeth came to RBI's and did a Restore the core class for Jennifer, Robyn, Emily and Krissy. a few others did not show up, but we are moms and things happen that we do not plan for. It was a great workout ans I learned a few new moves and remembered some that I have not done ina while, since before the middle of my pregnancy so my moms are going to get an even better class starting in July.

I am feeling the burn in my Abs today, which I love. My moms and I just want to thank Marybeth for taking the time to hang with us and we will see her in July.

I hope to see everyone at strollerfit friday, it is my return to teaching after a 7 week hiatus and I am pumped with new moves!!!!

Joey's Adventures with Grandma and Papa two

Ok, so Joey went to the zoo and then got to go to a ranch. The zoo was not so hot but my mom says the ranch was amazing. Joey got to ride a pony and told me later"Mommy, need a pony" I said "Mommy needs a pony?" and he said no "Mommy, need a pony to ride" oh I got it, Joey wants a pony to ride. Not a chance, he had Raven the 85 pound dog, she the closest thing to his own pony he is going to get.

today Scott, Julianna and I got up at 4:30 AM to go to the airport to meet Joey in Vegas. He is already with Grandma and grandpa on his way to California to go see Mickey Mouse. Today he will play with a family friend's son - Michael at the hotel pool while Grandma and Grandpa are at a wedding. tomorrow we all meet in Anaheim to see Mickey Mouse.

Mom's Night Out

the StrollerFit Moms went to Tatnuck Beads tonight and we had a blast. not only did we eat and have great drinks, we made beautiful jewelry and had some great laughs.

I made a bracelet with the kids names for my mom. It has there birthstones and is beautiful, I am thinking I need to go back and make myself one..

It was so much fun and we need to do it again. I am thinking of planning a night at Healthy Habits Kitchen in July and a digital scrapbooking event with Emily too.

Adventures with Grandma and Papa

Last weekend Joey began his adventure with Grandma and Papa by sleeping with them in the hotel in Phili. He swam with Papa and ate with them and found the boats and Trains with them.

This week he stayed home at our house with Grandma and the went for walks when it was not raining and watched Thomas the train on TV and shopped and went out to lunch and baked together. They made Peanut butter cookies and oatmeal cookies and other assorted snacks.

Today, he got on the plan with grandma all alone so he could go see Papa, GAC, swim in Kathy's Pool and get ready to go to California to go to Mickey Mouse's House once Scott, Julianna and I arrive next sat.

He loves being at the airport and seeing the planes and trucks out the window. I was worried for a minute because Grandma had a wheelchair and the attendant wanted him out of his stroller and in grandma's lap to get thru security. So I put him in Grandma's lap and he cried and screamed no mama, it was heart breaking. then they started to move and I heard him laugh and say cookies, Bye momma, bye baby ulianna. I guess cookies made it all better.

Grandma called and told me he was having a blast int he airport and he got his wings (I think this is his 24th flight and he has gotten wings on all the flights, some we have, some have been lost).

Then I went home and did Restore the Core while Julianna napped and then went to a BBQ. I am not worried at all, but can not wait to hear from them, when they land and Papa picks them up at the airport. I can not wait to hear about there adventures, and in the mean time I will be teaching StrollerFit and my last WSI class and getting ready to join him with Scott and Julianna.

Then who knows what crazy adventures we will all have, tune in for the next installment of Joey's Adventures with Grandma and Papa.....

Free Stuff

As a stay at home mom who controls the finances, I know the budget is tight and any extra money is saved for trips to NV to see Grandma and Papa so free stuff is always nice. I love hand me downs and never turn down toys that other kids no longer use because I know mine will love them.

Last year I got three different playschool ride in cars (you know the red one with the yellow top that we had as kids and looks like the Flintstones car since the kids use there feet to move). Scott thought I was nuts til he found out the cost of a new one. We kept one and gave 2 away to different StrollerFit moms.

We also received a Toddler bed for us and for Nate and bikes for the boys from the Monahan's and lots of hand me down clothing.

This year I am on a roll. Besides Ella and Casey's clothing for Julianna and Sean and Tyler's Stuff for Joey, we got clothing a toys from Emily and Carissa. Carlos and Jose gave Joey a bike and clothing too. I love that Joey loves things that were Tyler's (like his clothing and his kitchen which I paid $20 for and Tyler used the money for new toys that he has promised to give to Joey when he is no longer using them) and Sean's boots, which Joey can not wait to wear. But even better has been my side of the road finds.

Robyn got Joey a car to drive in the back yard. I got the $150 playschool roller coaster which is also in the back yard. One day while Robyn and I were coming back from StrollerFit, with a already full car (we had doll strollers for the kids, for them to participate in StrollerFit) we found a Rubbermaid storage box on the side of the road. We crammed the pieces under the kids legs (it is a good thing there legs are still short) and in front of Robyn and in the trunk and on the top of my luggage rack. Thank god we did not have to drive far. It is cracked, but for outdoor storage of Joey's toys it is perfect. Although, it is empty because Joey has decided to use it as a fort.

Then a few weeks later, Robyn found the kids a flexi flyer rocking horse, which the kids love, but I still need to clean it a bit.

Today was the best finds. at a bike swap, I got a double bike trailer that will hold both kids in good condition (retail new for $250-$300) for $40 and it is a donation/tax write off to the church). Then Robyn told me about a single one she saw but could not get in her car. I picked it up for her and while there got a beautiful white antique cradle for Julianna's dolls that is in beautiful condition.

Lets see what other finds we will get this summer. This is my new challenge.

Joeyisms and Julianna's tricks

Joey loves to say things like "Joey go play,", "Joey eat pasta," and my favorite "Joey and mommy go exercise!!" I love that he uses his name when he tells you something. It is very funny.

He other favorite this to say is "Joey going on plane to papa, grandma and mickey mouse." This is because my mom is here and he leaves today to go on the plane with grandma to her and papa's house and then Scott, Julianna and I follow next weekend and we all go to Disneyland.

Joey also thinks it is funny that Julianna rolls. She rolls over and over and over until she hits a wall or something in her way. She giggles as she does this. I probably should video tape this.

Well I am off to run errands and get ready to plan next weeks Strollerfit classes. I am trying to make some before I am off to work, if not I will be back teaching full classes, July 3 and the ladies are in for a workout.

The Wedding

Just got back from Phili, went to Brian and Kathy's wedding. It was at the Glen Foerd Mansion and we had a great time. The day was gray, but just before the ceremony the sun came out. Her dress was elegant and beautiful. It was just a spectacular affair. I even survived without fighting with my brother Keith. It was great to see everyone, especially Brian and my friends from high school and the family. Linda, Brian's mother was looking down from Heaven and the rain at the wedding was her years of Joy as her baby got married. Mom and I spent a lot of time with her family remembering her. I gave Kathy her pearls, I know she would have loved Kathy and would have wanted her to have them. I wore them well and know Kathy will too.

We drove down Friday, it took us 6 1/2 hours with 3 stops and an 8 1/2 mile backup by the Jersey Shore(plus a detour, we went the wrong way due to construction at a highway merge, and went a few miles the wrong direction, opps). When we got there Joey and papa checked out the boats, our hotel was on the water. Then they went swimming. We went to the rehearsal dinner and I saw lots of old friends and never held my kids, because between GAC (Great Aunt Carole, my moms sister), my parents, the bride and groom and others holding them, I was kid free thought the evening.

Saturday, moms Friend Donna and her daughter Karine and our Friend JC had the kids during the wedding. They walked and saw the boats, had a picnic lunch in the hotel and of course went swimming. Joey napped for 3 hours after that!

Then my Aunt Lois, Uncle Marty, Cousin Mandy, Cousin Jordan and his girlfriend Jen came for a visit. They drove from Baltimore and NJ, about a 2 hour drive for each and we all went to dinner. Another dinner where I was kid free because my children were held by everyone else. Then we took Joey for a swim and it was off to bed, we were tired.

Sunday was another busy day, brunch with family, then off to NY (No traffic and no detours!!!) where we saw Marianne and Ginni while mom got bread at Rockland Bakery to take back to Vegas and then we went to see Karen, Tim, Ryan and new baby Kaitlyn. That was a nice visit. Then we stopped in CT at our cousins Norma and Marvin's, where we had a BBQ with them and cousin Howie, Lillian and There Joey. It was great to see everyone.

I got home and did Restore the Core to help stretch after being in the car so long. It was an amazing end to a great weekend. I did make it wothout fighting with Keith, but I had a minor melt down on the way to brunch because of him, but thus is life...

Happy and Sad at the Same time at StrollerFit!

May and June have been an amazing month for StrollerFit. we got an evening class going 2 nights a week at Louisa Lake and have a few new clients. Some of our Friends are coming back while others are leaving, which makes me both happy and sad.

Alysa and Ariella will be back at class this week and Maybe Pam and Evan too. Wes and Melissa are leaving for the summer but will be back in September and Julianna will be excited to see her boyfriend Wes. Jennifer and Bryce are joining us, as are Missy and Alex and when School gets out we will see Jen and Brian again.

Emily has joined Restore the Core and we are trying to get her husband Stan and Robyn's Husband Paul to do it during the week.

Joey has not really seen Kaykay and Ella or Danielle for the past few weeks since I have been teaching and he asks for them daily. he saw them yesterday and all he talked about last night was Kaykay and Ella, so I am sad that they are not doing StrollerFit when I am done working. I understand they crazy life of having too and I know we will see them, It just broke my heart when he kept saying KayKay and Ella and I know we won't see them as much as we had in the past. We hope to see them at the park a lot so that Joey can get his girl friend fix.

The other big news is in July Mom n' Tot Yoga will start and we have some new faces coming to class. I am really excited to release this program.

When I started StrollerFit it was Ariella's Harem of Boys, then it was Joey's Harem of girls and now it is changing again. It is amazing to see how things change and how the kids change too.

StrollerFit and Weight Watchers

I have lost more than 10% of my body weight and have lost 21.8 pounds since Julianna was 3 weeks old, I have lost more than she weighs!!!!

This is all to walking and running with friends, weight watchers, StrollerFit, Mommymuscle Sculpt and Restore the Core. I have used the DVD's a lot in the past 3 weeks due to rain and not making classes since I have been teaching Red Cross Classes.

I am so excited to see my family this weekend and show them how far I have come. I still have more to go, but slowly but Surely it will come off.

The other night, Robyn told me I was her inspiration, and that made me cry. I hope that the StrollerFit moms know they inspire me daily.

5K's

I am looking forward to another 5K on Saturday June 20 in Hopkinton. Some of the StrollerFit moms will be participating. I am excited and lookinfg for a few more to do between now and the Tufts 10K.

The Fearless Fishers

Over the last few weeks I have been teaching the Water Safety Instructor Course and Joey has been coming to swim. He gave the aquatic directors heart failure jumping into 13 feet deep water by himself, no floaties. Then another day both Joey and his friend carlos jumped to my students without floates. It is amazing to see. Julianna still hates the bath, she likes the shower.

Julianna is a mover, she can roll both front to back and back to front. Last night she rolled in the crib til she was stuck in the corner.

I am in for trouble...
