Friday with the Fishers

I knew I should have stayed in BED!!! Though it did start with Joey holding Julianna in his arms and kissing her head, of course no camera was available before the moment ended. I need to keep a camera with me morning, noon and nite. It was just going to be one of those days. First Charlotte called, Nate was sick, but Danielle said she would teach, so I dropped some paperwork at RBI's for her for some new moms, and everyone else was either sick or there kids were sick so class was canceled.

Then, Mom and I were off to pick up the stuff for Julianna's Baby naming and I almost had to turn around because I could not find the directions, thought I left them at RBI's with the paperwork I left Danielle, turns out I had it in my visor.

We get to the deli and the egg salad we ordered was not there, which in the end was ok, because mom and I thought the guy made it himself and packaged egg salad has filler, YUCK!! Ok the caterers daughter is spoiled. So we went to to the store and bought eggs to do it ourselves.

Then we got to the temple, and I boiled, peeled and made 2 dozen eggs into really good egg salad, plattered cakes, cut bagels and set up the tables for the buffet for Saturday after the service, with feeding breaks for Julianna. Mom made tuna salad, plattered the whitefish salad, lox, veggies and made lots of flavored cream cheese. It took us 4 hours and we were exhausted, but I was not paying the caterer to do what we knew we could do, if only dad the caterer had flown in earlier, to that in a bit. Mom did a better job then I did, but it was fun doing it with her, nexst time we go to my places for food not the temples recommendation.

Then we went home, where my friend JC and Brother Keith and his wife Melissa were already at the house. I promised mom I would not fight with him, but after 5 minutes "The Bikerson's" my nickname for them, were driving me nuts. They Made Joey crazy, spun him around after he ate that he threw up, but she had to clean it up!!! and she almost dropped Julianna, she is banned from holding my kids.

After dinner I drove in the rain to get my dad whose flight was late, even though it said early when I left the house. IT is a good thing, I know where the legal seafood is, I parked in there lot and Feed Julianna. Joey went too, he wanted papa and left all the way to the airport but woke while I was stopped. Papa called and the 2 minutes to the airport, he was papa, papa and when papa got in the car he clammed up. IT was funny, then he slept all the way home and went right to bed, good thing he was in his PJ's.

Then we had my early b-day cake, chocolate strawberry shortcake. I only have 4 pounds to lose to get to prebaby weight then onto the next 20, good thing this cake is gone, one piece is "a moment on the lips a lifetime on my hips!" My sister-in-law was commenting on my glasses being dusty, could be she took the juice glasses from the top that have not been used in 2 years instead of the glasses on the bottom shelf we use everyday. Good thing I was off to the train station to pick up my other brother Brain, who made me laugh. I need a lot of wine after the bickerson's leave, good thing they are staying at a hotel and only here til Sunday. Brian and I stayted up and chatted just like we did in our apartment after college until Scott made us all go to bed.

I love having the company here and love entertaining, but they drive me to drink, literally, if I was not breastfeeding I would have cracked a bottle last night, but not up for pump and dump. Maybe next week after they are gone the girls will get together for a glass or too.

Ok I think I bitched enough. Off to get dressed for temple. Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be better than yesterday and pray it does not snow so my brother and his wife can fly out, if they get snowed in I will cry!!!

Hair cut

So I joined the haircut Revolution, no more buns or ponytails, I chopped it off this morning. I now curls again and is not dead!!!!

It is off my neck so I won't complain at StrollerFit and the girl did a great job, even better I made the appointment yesterday not knowing she had a special today and the cut cost me $12 plus a tip. What a deal!!!

Want to thank Charlotte and Danielle for doing a great job teaching for ma and to tell my SF moms keep up the great work.

I have the info on the first 5 K I am going to participate in and the training will start as soon as the Dr says so. Let me know if you want the registration info and if you want me to create a training plan for you. I am already working on one for Danielle and Charlotte has agreed to do the Tufts 10K with me in the fall post her baby, so I am creating the 10K training plan for us for her too. I can not wait to train for these. I hate running a lone but with the girls and kids it is always run. Charlotte and I did 2 5K's last year and we had a ball together.

MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I am glad I have this blog, I need a place to rant.........I ask you ladies, how come we can multitask with the child(ren) and they can not.

OK, so Joey was sick from wed night til Sunday night and all he wanted was Daddy, even at 3 am when he woke coughing and Scott was great with him, but you could see he was frustrated and nothing else could get done because he Joey would yell Daddy, daddy if he left the room and Scott would come running and everything else was forgotten.

So I did laundry Saturday and asked him to bring it up, I got one basket up before Joey freaked and the others came up with Scott after I asked 4 more times. Then he ran the dish washer last night and I had washed sheets, I said this am, you fold the sheets and put them in the linen closet and I'll put the dishes away. He looks at me and says, "we always fold the sheets together, how am I to fold them without you and with Joey by my side" I replied "how did you fold them 7 years ago, before we moved in together and let Joey play on the floor while you work, how do you think I do it?"

I went upstairs to find the sheets folded and put in the closet, but the pillowcases and few other items were still in a pile on the bed, but he and Joey were playing in Joey's room.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great father and husband, but like all men, he can't multitask and he gets sidetracked so easily. I do get sidetracked but come on.

The icing was he ran the dryer with Joeys stuffed animals that he slept with while sick, twice and they were still wet, so he ran them again and never cleaned the vent, and left the dry items in the dryer, when i went to check it, I asked why and he said "You need to leave the dry stuff to help dry the wet stuff and I forgot to clean the bear fuzz from the vent, opps" No wonder it was not dry. I took the dry stuff out and put the remaining wet stuff in with the load of laundry that was finished in the washer hrs before, thank god it was just Joey's sheets and clothing and wow it was amazing, 45 minutes it was all dry, must be mommy magic.

OK so I am done complaining and tomorrow is a new day, but I am blogging, feeding Julianna and planning my surprise for SF's MMS class tomorrow, 3 things at once, again must be mommy magic. Enough bitchin, time for bed!!!!!

One l;ast thing, please let me know if this is just my husband or as my mom would say "TM-Typical Male."

Julianna's sponge bath with Joey's help...

This am we all went to the Dr's the antibiotic they gave Joey yesterday is helping and by Wed he should no longer contagious so he can go to Mommymuscle sculpt and run around with the other kids while Danielle teaches. He said "Mine" to the Dr when she was picking up Julianna, so I guess he will keep her.

Grandma gave Julianna a sponge bath tonight and Joey helped. It was very funny. I did not get any photos, I was too funny, I laughed so hard I almost cried. He kept trying to hand Julianna toys and kept trying to get Grandma to add bubbles. Then he told Grandma "Baby Mine, Baby Bubbles Pease." It was so funny.

They things they come up with. The years to come will be so interesting.

I'm cold!!!

for over 6 weeks I wanted the baby out and I wanted the baby out. I was hot all the time even when it was freezing outside and I was uncomfortable.

Since Julianna was born I have been cold, except when I feed her, she is still radiating heat. Last night I said to Scott she could go back in til the cold weather ends. I think I was delirious because she was up every hour feeding and Joey is miserable with his croup.

OK, so I do not want her back inside but I need to warm up, time to unpack my winter clothing.

Julianna Ruby Fisher is 2 days old Joey has Croup

So I was to have cervidril Tue night and be induced wed, plans changed Tuesday am. No cervidril necessary, so I go to sleep at home Tuesday. We dropped Joey at Heather's on wed at 7 and off to the hospital. They gave me Pitocin at 8:30, broke my water at 11, gave my the good drugs at 2 and I was ready to push at 4:30. # pushes before the doctor got there and 3 after, and she arrived at 5 PM on the dot.

Julianna Ruby Fisher was 6pds 11 ounces, 21 1/4 inches long. She is beautiful with a full head of dark hair. So between the cameras and the cell phone calls it was crazy after her birth. For anyone that knows my dad, you will appreciate that my mom called him in Vegas, he was teaching spinning, but had his phone and answered. He put it on speaker and his whole class cheered when they heard. then he and the class called back after class to get more details, it was very funny.

I had my laptop and the hospital has wifi so Scott and I sent emails and I even replied to a new StrollerFit client a few hours after the birth. I cheated and I have a email I save and use to answer basic questions, thank god for that, and she emailed back, she is going to try class next week. I also gave 2 of the nurses that have young kids my card and they are going to check out StrollerFit too!! I know, I know, I am nuts, but Joey and I love class and I hope Julianna will love it too.

I spent a great first night with her to find out Joey and Heather did not sleep all night do to a cough, so I called the pediatrician, Joey, Grandma and Daddy went off to the doctors and we found out Joey has croup, he sounds horrible. Then they came to see us and he tried to feed Julianna chips and then went off to play with his new trucks from Peggy. He had no interest in her. He went home to nap and when he came back Auntie Leasa was here with a present for him and again the baby did not interest him. When he left he did kiss BABY bye after he and I had a cuddle.

It will be interesting to see how she is when we go home in a few hours.

I promise to put up photos later today or tomorrow.

Getting ready for the hospital

So I am going through withdrawl, it is tuesday and we had no StrollerFit yesterday. I have been going 5 days a week plus saturday for Restore the Core, it was weird not going. I am not suppose to be at class for 6 weeks after the baby, not sure if I will make it, I mayh have to pop in just to see the gang.

I figured I would be busy getting the bassinet in place and other baby stuff, but it is all done. Scott and my mom have made that so easy. Joey knows something is up. He has been even more cuddly then he usually is and only wants mommy. Scott is home today as we prepare for the hospital, I am being induced tonight (YEAH!!) and usually if Daddy is here, Joey wants dadddy, but not today. He just wants me.

He helped me pack for his trip to Auntie Heathers. The bag had lots of socks and this morning he brought me dirty pj's to put in the bag. It has been fun to pack with him. The bag has cars and his baby and puppies, he even tried to get our 85 pound dog Raven in the bag, what a site that was.

Now we just wait for baby. Someone asked if I was nervous, no, but I am excited to meet the new baby. And yes I know two will be more work than one, I have been watching my friends with two, but I can not wait. My hope is that Joey will nto be like me who after 5 days tried to send my brother back.

Next time I write there should be a new baby, will it be a girl or a boy?

The Red Shoes today at StrollerFit

I thought Drea was a shoe in, no pun intended to win the 5 points in the red shoe bonus today, but she did not wear her Red Converse. Robin who works and can not come 5 days a week wanted the points so she made her sneakers red, not sure if they were 50% red, which was my requirement, but she gets the points for creativity.

Check them out...

Way to go Robin. So here is my new 10 point challenge, for Monday, February 23, 2009, dress in red from head to toe. This includes hair accessories, shirts, pants and socks, 5 extra point if the bra is red too!!! Lets see what the StrollerFit moms will come up with for that.

Red Shoe Challenge

We know Drea has red sneakers, will she remember to wear them to get he bonus 5 points in the StrollerFit Heart Healthy Challenge today? Or will someone else have red shoes too? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Induction...

So this baby is being like Joey, dropped last week, crawled back up this week. The Dr has agreed to induce me next week if nothing happens before then. She informed me it could cause me to have a c-section, but I am not worried (knock on wood literally), they gave me cervadril and petossin with Joey and he was a fast labor, and only 5 pushes in 25 minutes once I was dilated, so I think it should be just fine. Pray for me.

Went to class after that and worked the ladies hard in StrollerFit, now I am preparing my last Mommymuscle Sculpt class before I have the baby.

Here's to a GREAT workout!

Pondering while Joey sleeps about motherhood

It is 7:49 and I had planned to write about the Heart Healthy Challenge and that my SF moms are really getting into it, but that yesterday's Restore the core moms did not seem to care, they were there to workout and did not wear red or pink and were not competing to see who gets to class first. But instead I need to write about being a stay at home mom.

One of my SF moms sent me an email that contained an article about Stay at home moms and what we do all day.

About 4 months ago, I was told by a Moms group that I was not a stay at home mom, because I run SF, Consult when it comes my way, teach Red Cross Classes when the need arises and during the summer, teach my first love swimming. I also, had a part time job before this pregnancy for 12 hours a week. When I was told that I was not a stay at home mom I laughed. I am with Joey 24 hours a day most days, when I worked part time, he was not with a sitter, he was with dad and when I consult I am doing that from home, when he naps or while he plays at my feet, what use to take an hour make take 4 or more while I meet his needs - food, diapers, juice, trains, trucks, you name it. Yesterday it took me two hours to fold laundry, He was playing in his room and I was on a role, getting it folded and away, when he wanders in, climbs his makeshift stairs onto my bed (the humidifier in the box, and my hope chest, he is very ingenious with his stairs) and begins to take the piles and drop them into the basket on the floor where they unfold.

Then he runs threw the remaining piles, which go everywhere. He stops as I try to catch him and remind him no standing on the bed, but he did not stop because of me, he stopped to scrunch his face and then give me the Stinky p you sign, in other words, mom I just pooped. So off we went to change his diaper, then he requested books, we read 5 books, then went down for lunch. The laundry was forgotten. After lunch we played trucks and he helped me prep dinner (he threw the trash in the trash can as I made it, his way of helping me cook, at least it was only the trash going in the trash can, his friend Kasey like to trow anything she can in the trash can.)

Then I put him for a nap and decided I would lay down too, and there was the laundry, needing to be refolded and put away. Now you see why it took 2 hours to put the laundry away. After that I decided to do my mommymuscle sculpt DVD. I did arms and am feeling it today. Glad he is still sleeping so I can get my StrollerFit work done this am and maybe get a shower in.

So to the crazy women who write what do stay at home moms do, come where my shoes for a day, it is never the same, everyday has amazing surprises and I would not change it for the world. They say in your adult life time you have 7 career changes from college to retirement. Not 7 jobs, 7 careers, I think this 5 for me and I plan on keeping this career for a very long, long time!!!!!!!!!

Heart Healthy Challenge

So week one is over and I have 3 moms that are competing hard. One lives across the street and got a ride form me today, so we got there first, and Robyn asks, so I am first since I am with you , do I get the point. I said yes, especially since this week, many of the moms have been early to class and beaten me there.

I am working on other challenges besides the Red Shoes. If anyone has an idea, let me know. I am tired and we did a great workout today, so I am off to bed.

Shoes part two

the gauntlet has been thrown down by Danielle, who says er sneakers have read, so the shoes for the bonus points must be 50% or more red for the 5 points and must be worn to StrollerFit on Thursday, February 12, 2009. Be creative ladies.

Red Shoes

In my last post I mentioned the challenge was going strong and I might add some bonus challenges like Red Shoes and one mom already said, if I any mom comes with Red Shoes she should win automatically. So I am challenging all the moms, not to Red Shoes but Red Sneakers (the sneakers have to have Red, and you can be creative....). the catch is they must be worn Thursday, February 12 in honor of Lincoln's birthday. Let's see what the moms come up with.

This challenge is worth 5 points!!

Back to bed I go, maybe for an hour or two. Then the craziness will begin, errands while Joey and dad are at Music, StrollerFit and our monthly pot luck. Atleast my dish is done

Heart Healthy Challenge

I can not believe how much some of the moms are getting into this. One of my moms, says she owns nothing red except for socks with Red, so she makes sure to point out the red in her socks so she gets her correct points. I am amazed. During the last challenge I had a few moms compete, but this is even more fun. I am thinking I need to add a few other challenges, like one day a Red Hat or red shoes, I am going to think about that, maybe these will be bonus points on a specific day.

I have also firmed up my next session for Restore the Core, starting the end of March and I am adding an afternoon class. Hope it fills. details to follow.

Sick child, No sleep and More Snow...

Joey has been fussy for days, and last night had a low grade fever again. He woke up so many times, that for a good portion of the night he slept between Scott and I. And when I say between, I do not mean laying next to us, no we were like an H, Scott and I on each end and he across, his feet in my back and his head in Scott's back. I was so afraid we would squish him, but if i moved him he cried and woke up. Oh what fun!

Scott stayed home and we took him to the Dr. No ear infection, no sore throat, no stomach thing or congestion, but it was what I thought all along, the two-year Molars are cutting in. Poor guy. I left Joey home with Daddy and went off to StrollerFit.

By the time class was to start it was snowing, so the consensus was to do Restore the Core instead, less to lug, but that left us with the older ones running and creating Havoc. To add to the craziness, I was video taping my new RTC instructor for her certification. We were suppose to do that tonight, but with the snow decided to do it during class. I think she did well, now to see if I can get it to burn on a dvd with sound....This also made me remember why we do Restore the Core with out the children. It is the one or two hours a week with out mommy, mommy, mommy!!!!!!

Off to play with the DVD player and the computer. When Joey wakes up maybe we will "buildahot"

My Child the Baker

Baking......

For anyone that knows me, you know I love to Cook, no measuring required!!! As for baking, not my favorite activity, usually too many steps and too much measuring. As my pregnancy comes to an end, my sweet tooth is gaining momentum and with the diabetes, I am truly trying to keep the sugar intake down.

The best way to do that is to make it from scratch. And then eat a bit and send the rest to work with Scott. This morning I sort of had a little helper.

He is definitely related to Grandma Sharon, she loves to bake and he is my child because I loved to mix and then clean the bowl and utensils.

Now we need to go run errands and then off to StrollerFit, to burn the calories before we eat the cookies.

Cancer....

Life is so fragile and Cancer has been destroying the lives I love for more than half of my life. I look at my mother who has been battling this disease for far to long and I am amazed everyday by her strength, I am not sure I could do it. I know that Joey and this new baby help her to fight everyday, but in my heart I know that without her own inner strength nothing could make her go thru what she does everyday. She says it is not the cancer that will kill her, but the side effects to the Chemo and I believe her. In the last few years she has had congestive heart failure, neuropathy in her hands and feet, back pain and colitis. The new drug made her miss my brothers wedding but she is fighting to be well enough to be her for the birth of the baby. She was there for Joey's birth and nothing is going to keep her away, not even being pumped with Chemo and lots of Anti-Nausea drugs.

In her honor and the honor of those who have passed away Linda (who Joey's middle name is for), Len, Barbara, Debbie, Bertha, and many many more, and for those who have beaten this awful disease and are still with us like Carol W, I have started a team to participate in this years Relay for Life in Milford, MA on May 16 and 17th at Milford High school, called Hip Mamas and I hope the ladies from StrollerFit (and there families) and the WW members will join me once again to help raise money to end this awful disease. Joey, Scott, my parents and a few friends participated last year and we had a great time and I hope we can get an even bigger turn out this year. I know it will be a late night for the kids, but we can bring the pj's and have a good time.

If you want to register to join us go to:

http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=16296&pg=teamlist and find Hip mamas and click on join the team.

Hope to see you all there.
