What a day

Today we had a large class at StrollerFit with 3 new moms and I feel really good about them joining. One is coming tomorrow to Try Mom n' Tot Yoga and Mommymuscle Sculpt. I also had 2 new moms join yesterday, My summer promo with a free gift is working well, thanks Diane for the great idea! It was a hot and humid day but we still got in a great workout!

Then a group of the StrollerFit moms went on a picnic at the lake and we swam. Joey loves the water. Julianna went in after a nap in her tent with Bryce. She was happy, Bryce not so much, thus is life, but he warmed up to it, unlike Christopher who screamed, we will work on him.

Then we picked up daddy and went to Mimi and Grumpy's to swim in there pool. I left them and went to teach a swim lesson and then we ended the day at Kimballs Farm where I had an ice cream sundae for dinner, and it was GREAT!

They have a new animal exhibit and they bring the animals out including a wallaby (which Joey loved). I am thinking of doing a StrollerFit event there.

What a great day. We are planning a StrollerFriends BBQ at the beach on Friday. It is such a great spot, maybe we will even do class on the trails there before hand.

Blueberry and Black Raspberry Picking

Today ,many of the StrollerFit families went Blueberry picking after Mommymuscle Sculpt and Mom n' Tot Yoga. We had 2 dads that did class again and were apart of the group, it was great to see the dads out with the kids.

We had a ball. I paid for 2 quarts of Berries - $5 what a bargain, seeing as Joey and the other kids probably each ate a quart on there own.

It was fun and we are doing it again with friends after a picnic next Monday.

The last few days

Saturday it was hot and Humid. We started the day with Restore the core and then went out for breakfast at the Valley cafe. we love it there. Then we went to Old Sturbridge Village where Joey saw and played with the antique fire trucks and he showed Aunt Cheri the bank and the money. We also saw Nate, Charlotte, Olivia, Scott, Emily and Cose (Carlos and Jose).

It was a lot of fun and we saw them make ice cream. we tasted Parmesan and Berry Ice Cream. I was quite surprised, the Parmesan was good, not too cheesy. Then we went to the pool at Mimi Linda's, Julianna fell asleep on the armed raft in the shady at the pool, it was too cute.

Sunday was not so humid and we walked 45 minutes up the big hill to the Pool at Mimi Linda's (45 minutes up hill) swam and then walked 30 minutes down hill. IT was a great day and Joey played with Gavin and Liam. Then he picked lettuce and yellow squash from Pa Steve's Garden. We used the lettuce to make a giant salad and grilled the yellow squash. It was a great dinner.

Monday we went to the Zoo with StrollerFit and then had a play date with Drea and Jayce. we had a great workout and the kids enjoyed the animals. It was a great 3 summer days til the rain on Tuesday, but it is suppose to be nice today and we are off to Blueberry pick after Mom n' Tot Yoga and Mommymuscle Sculpt.

Happy and Sad at the Same time at StrollerFit!

May and June have been an amazing month for StrollerFit. we got an evening class going 2 nights a week at Louisa Lake and have a few new clients. Some of our Friends are coming back while others are leaving, which makes me both happy and sad.

Alysa and Ariella will be back at class this week and Maybe Pam and Evan too. Wes and Melissa are leaving for the summer but will be back in September and Julianna will be excited to see her boyfriend Wes. Jennifer and Bryce are joining us, as are Missy and Alex and when School gets out we will see Jen and Brian again.

Emily has joined Restore the Core and we are trying to get her husband Stan and Robyn's Husband Paul to do it during the week.

Joey has not really seen Kaykay and Ella or Danielle for the past few weeks since I have been teaching and he asks for them daily. he saw them yesterday and all he talked about last night was Kaykay and Ella, so I am sad that they are not doing StrollerFit when I am done working. I understand they crazy life of having too and I know we will see them, It just broke my heart when he kept saying KayKay and Ella and I know we won't see them as much as we had in the past. We hope to see them at the park a lot so that Joey can get his girl friend fix.

The other big news is in July Mom n' Tot Yoga will start and we have some new faces coming to class. I am really excited to release this program.

When I started StrollerFit it was Ariella's Harem of Boys, then it was Joey's Harem of girls and now it is changing again. It is amazing to see how things change and how the kids change too.

StrollerFit and Weight Watchers

I have lost more than 10% of my body weight and have lost 21.8 pounds since Julianna was 3 weeks old, I have lost more than she weighs!!!!

This is all to walking and running with friends, weight watchers, StrollerFit, Mommymuscle Sculpt and Restore the Core. I have used the DVD's a lot in the past 3 weeks due to rain and not making classes since I have been teaching Red Cross Classes.

I am so excited to see my family this weekend and show them how far I have come. I still have more to go, but slowly but Surely it will come off.

The other night, Robyn told me I was her inspiration, and that made me cry. I hope that the StrollerFit moms know they inspire me daily.

Mom N Tot Yoga...now enrolling!!

Mom N Tot Yoga NOW ENROLLING
Experience this new class format, it's a yoga workout for both parent and child. Increase self confidence, connection and more as you exercise together!

8 Week Session, Wednesday's at 9 am starting July 8

Cost: $80 by June 15 ($60 if you have kids Mat), $100 after June 16 ($80 if you have the kids Mat), (Special pricing for families that will have 2 or more children participating.)

Yoga for Kids? Jonna Byars, PhD. says "our adult lives have become so rushed and over scheduled that we rarely stop and take a breath. And we often think children do not suffer from stress related symptoms. After all they do not work, pay bill, etc, so what could they possibly worry about? But even young children have worries and stress." So yes Yoga is great for kids and it is even better because it is a workout for any adult to do with a child.

StrollerFit's program is for children 3 and up and mom, dad, grandma, any adult.

Over the past decade the child hood obesity rate has doubled in children 2-5 and tripled for children 6-11. A shocking cause is lack of activity. Research has found that instilling a love of activity at a young age, children are more likely to stay at a normal weight throughout life. To help children manage their stress and fight obesity we must find a way to exercise that works to who being, including physical body, mind, heart and soul, and Yoga does this.

So again we ask, why yoga for kids? Research has found the following:

1. Children experience many of the same physical benefits as adults do from practicing yoga. Yoga strenghtens and exercises them. It makes them flexible, coordinated, balanced and less likely to suffer injury.

2. Yoga for kids enhances self-awareness. This helps the child focus.

3. Yoga for kids enhances imagination and empathy. When they stretch like a dog, balance like flamingo, breath like a bunny, or stand tall like a tree, and are asked to imagine what it would be like to be one of these forms, not only do children use their imagination, but they also develop understanding for life.

4. Yoga teaches children to move their bodies in a competitive environment. Yoga is not about being right or wrong, it is about bringing awareness to ones life. And children can work together to help each other reach their goals.

5. Yoga teaches children self-discipline. As part of the practice of Yoga, kids need to low down, hold posses, breathe or think in a certain way. Yoga encourages children to master themselves rather than waiting for an adult to control them.

6. Yoga for kids can be away to strengthen a family. Yoga is an exercise that children, parents and even grandparents can do together. As children participate with their families in Yoga they feel closer.

Through Yoga children can learn ways to relax and get control of stresses in their lives.

I am very excited to Bring StrollerFit's Mom and Tot Yoga to the Blackstone valley for children 3 and up. Mom, Dad, Grandparents, and caregivers will reap the benefits that the children will reap from this program.

I am piggy backing this class with Mommymuscle sculpt. Mom and Tot Yoga Wednesday's at 9 AM, Mommymuscle Sculpt at 9:30 AM.

I hope we get lots of moms to chat with on line. I love the internet!!!

The past 24 hours

Yesterday started off great. We got up, had a family breakfast, set up Julianna's crib, which she napped in and loved and all got out the door on time. We dropped Scott off for his quick 30 minute appointment and I took the kids to the Post Office. Joey helped me pack a box and played with the mail truck that the post man gave him while I did what I had to do. then we ran into the market for 2 items and made it back to the Dr's to pick up Scott just as he was calling my cell.

The sun was shining and with the way the day was going I expected it to stay beautiful and for it to be a good if not great day. Now let me back track to Monday, I had a mommy moment like you would not believe, I knew Julianna had her 2 month check up in the morning, but I went running and half way thru the run, realized her appointment was in 5 minutes. I called the Dr's and they were not busy so they =moved the appointment. I finished my run and took the kids to the drs. She did great for her shots, but the day was crazy. When Wednesday started off so well, I was in a grand mood, thinking, nothing could spoil this.

Then I got to Mommymuscle Sculpt at RBI's and met 2 women who wanted to try the class. They had been calling RBI's all morning. Not sure where they got the RBI's number, they checked out my StrollerFit website and it is not on there, I checked.

Anyway, Thank god I was 10 minutes early and only live 5 minutes away. I explained they needed a bar to participate and I need to run and get them. I called one of my instructors and explained what happened, and thanks to her and Drea a SF member, they got the new moms in and relaxed. I got home grabbed the last bar I have and called Charlotte a client who lives near my house and RBI's (who recently had a baby) and borrowed her bar. Then I realized Melanie a new StrollerFit client was coming to try the class so I was short a bar. So I figured one could use mine and I would teach and coach them thru the positions.

I got back and was a bit frazzled, but I think I taught a good class and they enjoyed it. they asked lots of questions about StrollerFit and Restore the Core, so hopefully they will come and try other classes. Turns out they heard about StrollerFit thru a Restore the Core mom, who told her friend Jules, who I have been corresponding with. Jules just had a baby and as soon as she is cleared will be coming to class. Kelly one of the women is Jules' cousin.

Anyway, I am rambling. Julianna slept thru class, but Scott was not there to play sitter to the toddlers so I had to keep an eye on them too. This made it difficult, but in the end all the moms worked as a team to discipline their own children and the class was good. We got home and the kids napped and I worked. Still a bit frazzled, and sad when the weather turned to rain again.

I was glad it did not rain today, although it was windy and we are due for 70-80 for the next 4 days, here comes summer, YEAH!!! Here's hoping that tomorrow won't be so crazy, although it is a busy day. Running with the crew, StrollerFit, Trip with StrollerFriends to the Ecotarium and need to run a few errands.

It is 8:30 and I am off to bed....

Thought for the day

While my day was crazy busy I had a thought running thru my mind regarding weight loss and getting Fit.

I have one girl friend who is trying to lose weight on her own, another who is thinking about joining me at weight watchers one I may have strong armed into doing weight watchers with me, one who joined on her own and is losing and another who joined on her own but her head is not in the game.

We all have many reasons for trying to lose weight and one of my StrollerFit moms told me I motivate her to focus since I had a baby 7 weeks ago and I am running, doing StrollerFit, Mommymuscle Sculpt and Restore the Core while trying to eat better and change my habits for good.

I have gotten into shape before and then went back to my old habits. This time I am working to making new habits permanent and lose the old ones. But back to motivating my client. I am glad I am motivating her, but I realize that like me, she need to do it for herself and small lifestyle changes are they way to make them permanent, not large changes that work for a few weeks and then we go back to our old ways.

I guess my point is, StrollerFit helps moms work out with there kids and join other moms in a great support network and I am glad for that. Together we can help each other reach our goals as long as we remember it is one step at a time.

My StrollerFit moms and I are Participating in the Love Your New Moms Weight Loss Challenge and I hope this be the jump start to those small changes they each want to make to help them reach there ultimate goal!!!

Working out with my Kids

I read a blog from another StrollerFit owner this morning about the cost benefits of StrollerFit and it made me think about the benefits in general of StrollerFit. First of all I am getting in shape and teaching my 2 children to be healthy and the importance of working out. Secondly, I have met a great group of moms that keeps growing, which help me and I hope I help them and lastly, my children have made some great friends!

Now lets look at the cost benefits. I workout with my kids and do not have to pay a sitter or put them in the babysitting room at the gym, which will not take my daughter til she is 6 months old and she is only 7 weeks old. Plus it is really great quality time with my kids. With the economy as it is, that is a bonus, plus moms who come to class more than once a week pay less than $5 a class, another bonus!

Another benefit is the regular exercise lowers the cost to overall health costs for illnesses due to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure or cholesterol - all which continue to rise in our society! And by exercising with our children and teaching them to be healthy, maybe the risks will be lower in them.

Exercise is a great Stress Reliever - proven yesterday, when one of my StrollerFit moms was having a bad morning, our run helped clear her mind and release the anger! A big bonus for me. Exercise helps to manage & reduce stress. We are all under a lot of pressures to in our daily lives. Having a positive outlet to relieve stress is important for our sense of well being and our health.

With StrollerFit, Restore the Core or mommymuscle sculpt classes, you get a workout in and you get a few laughs with friends, which is great for your health. You also get to to relax and then go home feeling great. Exercise releases endorphins that hep to improve our mood and gives us a boost of energy that every mom can use in her busy day!

A great benefit while burning calories and toning muscles is the social network that the moms and kids build. The moms understand what each other is going thru and they support each other and can give advice or just listen when you need an ear.

By joining StrollerFit you are a role model for your children - setting a positive example for them early on can do wonders for their overall health & sense of well being as well. Diabetes & obesity in children & adolescents have more than tripled since 1990 - if we can show that physical activity can be fun & enjoyable, then our little ones are more likely to establish those habits early on & stick with it for a lifetime.

And the best benefit of all is the kids run around and play after class and then go home and take a nap, or at least mine do!!

Now off to do my daily run before the day gets too crazy!

The Routine

Daddy went back to work and Joey, Julianna and I started our new routine.

GMA this AM while Joey and Milk and I feed Julianna. Then we had breakfast and played before getting dressed and off to run errands and to StrollerFit.

Then we got home had lunch and Joey napped for almost 3 hours, yeah. The first time in a month!!! Then Joey watched Thomas the trains while I made dinner. then me did bath, books and bed at 7 PM, right on time.

I loved going back to StrollerFit and love that Joey only watched TV for 30 minutes. When I turned it off he waved goodbye and went to play with his trucks. It was a great first day back int he game and I am hoping they keep going this way.

I got some work done and am hoping that the emails I replied will get as a few new SF moms. we have a new RTC mom and a few others interested. We love when class has lots of moms so the more moms at StrollerFit, Mommymuscle sculpt and Restore the Core the Better

StrollerFit workouts and Pregnancy

Ok, Don't hate me, but the first time I got on the scale after giving birth to Julianna I had 6 pounds to lose, last week at WW they said 4, well I did it, I lost the 4, so I am back to the weight I was before finding out I was pregnant. This puts me back on track to lose the rest of the weight I wanted to lose before I got pregnant with Joey.

At today's ww meeting someone asked me what I thought the key was, I said drinking water, eating better, tracking what I ate and most of all working out with Joey at strollerfit (mommymuscle sculpt and restore the core). Now to lose the rest and get into the smaller pants!!!

I am going back to participating in class next week, but on a limited schedule until I see the dr in 2 weeks, I don't want to get in trouble for doing things I should not.

Julianna's sponge bath with Joey's help...

This am we all went to the Dr's the antibiotic they gave Joey yesterday is helping and by Wed he should no longer contagious so he can go to Mommymuscle sculpt and run around with the other kids while Danielle teaches. He said "Mine" to the Dr when she was picking up Julianna, so I guess he will keep her.

Grandma gave Julianna a sponge bath tonight and Joey helped. It was very funny. I did not get any photos, I was too funny, I laughed so hard I almost cried. He kept trying to hand Julianna toys and kept trying to get Grandma to add bubbles. Then he told Grandma "Baby Mine, Baby Bubbles Pease." It was so funny.

They things they come up with. The years to come will be so interesting.

Induction...

So this baby is being like Joey, dropped last week, crawled back up this week. The Dr has agreed to induce me next week if nothing happens before then. She informed me it could cause me to have a c-section, but I am not worried (knock on wood literally), they gave me cervadril and petossin with Joey and he was a fast labor, and only 5 pushes in 25 minutes once I was dilated, so I think it should be just fine. Pray for me.

Went to class after that and worked the ladies hard in StrollerFit, now I am preparing my last Mommymuscle Sculpt class before I have the baby.

Here's to a GREAT workout!

Pondering while Joey sleeps about motherhood

It is 7:49 and I had planned to write about the Heart Healthy Challenge and that my SF moms are really getting into it, but that yesterday's Restore the core moms did not seem to care, they were there to workout and did not wear red or pink and were not competing to see who gets to class first. But instead I need to write about being a stay at home mom.

One of my SF moms sent me an email that contained an article about Stay at home moms and what we do all day.

About 4 months ago, I was told by a Moms group that I was not a stay at home mom, because I run SF, Consult when it comes my way, teach Red Cross Classes when the need arises and during the summer, teach my first love swimming. I also, had a part time job before this pregnancy for 12 hours a week. When I was told that I was not a stay at home mom I laughed. I am with Joey 24 hours a day most days, when I worked part time, he was not with a sitter, he was with dad and when I consult I am doing that from home, when he naps or while he plays at my feet, what use to take an hour make take 4 or more while I meet his needs - food, diapers, juice, trains, trucks, you name it. Yesterday it took me two hours to fold laundry, He was playing in his room and I was on a role, getting it folded and away, when he wanders in, climbs his makeshift stairs onto my bed (the humidifier in the box, and my hope chest, he is very ingenious with his stairs) and begins to take the piles and drop them into the basket on the floor where they unfold.

Then he runs threw the remaining piles, which go everywhere. He stops as I try to catch him and remind him no standing on the bed, but he did not stop because of me, he stopped to scrunch his face and then give me the Stinky p you sign, in other words, mom I just pooped. So off we went to change his diaper, then he requested books, we read 5 books, then went down for lunch. The laundry was forgotten. After lunch we played trucks and he helped me prep dinner (he threw the trash in the trash can as I made it, his way of helping me cook, at least it was only the trash going in the trash can, his friend Kasey like to trow anything she can in the trash can.)

Then I put him for a nap and decided I would lay down too, and there was the laundry, needing to be refolded and put away. Now you see why it took 2 hours to put the laundry away. After that I decided to do my mommymuscle sculpt DVD. I did arms and am feeling it today. Glad he is still sleeping so I can get my StrollerFit work done this am and maybe get a shower in.

So to the crazy women who write what do stay at home moms do, come where my shoes for a day, it is never the same, everyday has amazing surprises and I would not change it for the world. They say in your adult life time you have 7 career changes from college to retirement. Not 7 jobs, 7 careers, I think this 5 for me and I plan on keeping this career for a very long, long time!!!!!!!!!

MMS and Young Love

Wednesday's are all about the moms. We do Mommymusclesculpt in the afternoon and the kids get to run free with Scott there to make sure no one gets hurt. It is great for all, Scott loves to play with Joey and his friends, especially now that we are at RBI's where there are lots of balls to engage the kids with. The moms are always amazed by by his patience with them. But I think of it this way: 1. the men he works with are at least 100 times worse than the kids, 2. he earns $10 a week towards a new video game and 3. its an hr a week where we moms do it a lot more than that.

We had some cute moments at class, first while we were setting up we all looked over to see Joey and his favorite girl KAYKAY locked in a hug that seemed to last forever. Of course I did not have my camera on me. Kasey had the biggest smile, Joey was looking confused, not sure what he was thinking, but he was not tryin g to get away. Kasey's big sister Ella joined them and then the moment was over, it was so cute.

While we worked the kids had the bowling pins up and were trying to bowl, but Joey and Kacey just kept taking the pins down. There laughter and being able to watch while we worked our mommymuscles was inspiring. My favorite part was when Sean wanted to use a band and stretch with us. It shows that we are truly building strong confident kids while building strong confident moms.

and again I want to say thank you to my moms for helping me deal with my mom. I had a good cry with Heather the other night during RTC. So our class ran a bit long by the time we were done, but I needed the cry and Heather needed the workout, good thing Stuart her husband was not wondering where she was. I am going to miss my Tuesday evening RTC with Heather when the baby comes, but we will be back to them as soon as the Dr allows for it!!!

Better go get ready for StrollerFit, who knows what will happen today.

Size 5 Body

I had a StrollerFit mom ask me if her reward for going to class is a size 5 body. This started me thinking, size 5, when was I last a size 5? Is it about size or health or how you feel inside and out?

As a ponder this I think to myself, my goal post Joey was to get back into shape, what does that mean? With 8 weeks left to go in this pregnancy with Baby Fisher2, where do I see myself post pregnancy?

So I pose the above questions to my StrollerFit moms - think about it, what are your individual goals, why do you come to class and why are you joining my challenge to schedule in your workout like any other appointment?

The answer will be different for each of us. Before getting pregnant with Baby Fisher2 I lost 28 pounds, 6 pounds was left over pregnancy weight from Joey, 22 was weight I needed to lose before Joey. I wanted to lose more, but I got pregnant again. I did StrollerFit and Restore the core and was down 3 pants sizes. My StrollerFit moms know that post baby I will begin weight watchers again, because I find it works for me and I believe two of you will be joining me. That plus Strollerfit, Restore The Core and MommymuscleSculpt will help me get to my individual goal and to stay there in the future!!! Most importantly for me is the support that the StrollerFit moms give each other during the Journey called Motherhood. This helps me to focus on my goals, with weight, fitness and in life.

I hope I give the StrollerFit Moms the same things that they give me and want to say thank you for all you give me. And I want you all to ponder the size 5 question....

Another week of the StrollerFit Schedule your workout challenge

What a week it has been. We have had ice, rain and snow!!! But the moms have been out with the kids and working hard to schedule the workout into there crazy lives.

This weeks winner is Danielle. Congrats Danielle.

So here is the question, Drea won, week one, Danielle week two, who will week three, one of them, or someone else, since it is x-mas week? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Joey and I have seen a lot of Danielle and her girls Kacey and Ella This week. Between class and a play date the three of them have made me laugh to the point I almost wet myself.

Many of you do not know but my husband Scott has become part of the StrollerFit team, he watches Joey and the older kids during Mommymuscle Sculpt in return for credits towards buying a new video game. This week we demoed StrollerFit and Mommymuscle Sculpt (And Restore the Core if the snow stops in time for 8 am Sat AM)at the new January location, RBI's and Ella, Kacey and Joey had Scott running crazy. the had every ball out, they tried to escape and they played tag. I am not sure we moms got the best workout, but Scott did and we had a great laugh. Isn't laughing a tummy exercise, as long as the belly button is to the spine??????????

Anyhow, it has been a crazy week, with lots of memories and I can not wait to make more. 8 weeks till the new baby is due to arrive. The space in RBI's is huge and we ran a lot this week. After the running it felt like the baby was doing a jig, not sure if he/she liked it or not but I felt great!

During the snow yesterday, Joey ventured out with his shovel to help daddy. Don't think he helped much but he and Raven the dog had fun making a mess and getting all wet. I was smart, I took the pictures. That's all for now.

Have fun getting ready for the holiday's and remember put your sneakers on and get out of the house for an hour, get the workout in and do something for yourself, the kids will love you for it.

StrollerFit "Schedule your work out Challenge"

So we are into week two of the challenge. The challenge is on and it was a close but Drea won the first week. It will be interesting to see what happens with the holidays over the next two weeks.

Ladies keep up the good work!!

So we tested the new space for January - RBI's in Whitinsville and it was like being outside again, we had so much space and ran a lot, so much that my legs hurt. Baby Fisher to be did not like the running, I think I work him/her up from a nap. But with 9 weeks to go til my due date the baby will have to adjust his or her sleeping time by an hour or so because the exercise keeps me energized to chase Joey and will help post delivery.

Just a reminder, Wed we will be holding Mommymuscle Sculpt at RBI's, Friday's StrollerFit will be at RBI's and Saturday RBI's will be hosting a Restore the Core pre-holiday workout extravaganza. Hope to see lots of you at these events.
